This is a funeral planning worksheet for the Catholic Parishes of Jennings County. Families are encouraged to complete this document in advance and file it in a place known to immediate family members.
The Mass of Christian Burial includes a Vigil/Rosary service, scripture readings, and a funeral meal option. Eulogies are permitted only at the Vigil/Rosary service, during the committal, or at the funeral meal—not during Mass itself.
Only sacred music based on scripture is permitted during the Mass of Christian Burial. The parish provides an accompanist and cantor. Pre-recorded and secular music are not permitted during Mass but may be played at the vigil or other suitable times.
