This document serves as a Funeral Planning Sheet for the Mass of Christian Burial at the Catholic Parishes of Jennings County. Families are encouraged to complete pre-arrangements and file documentation with immediate family members.
The Vigil/Rosary service precedes the Mass of Christian Burial and includes prayers for the deceased, scripture readings, reflection, rosary, and optional eulogies or words of remembrance.
Only sacred music based on scripture is permitted during the Mass of Christian Burial. Secular music may be played at the vigil/calling or other suitable times outside of Mass.
The parish provides accompanist, cantor, altar servers, and a funeral meal option following the Mass of Christian Burial.
Eulogies are not permitted during the Mass of Christian Burial but may be offered during the Vigil/Rosary service at the funeral home, following the committal service, or during the funeral meal.
