Pastor's Note

Fr. Varghese Maliakkal reflects on Pentecost and the sacrament of Reconciliation, explaining that confession is not merely forgiveness but a new creation—a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit that reorients us toward Christ's healing mission. He encourages parishioners to ask the Holy Spirit after confession for one concrete way to participate in His healing will.

Announcements

Jose Soria Martinez, husband of parishioner Barbara Soria, passed away on May 14, 2026. A funeral Mass was celebrated on May 21, 2026. Please pray for him and his family.

Former STA pastor Fr. Cliff Vogelsang passed away on May 7, 2026, at age 89. He served as pastor from 1984 to 1993 between Fr. Marty Peter and Fr. William Munshower. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church on May 14, 2026.

Congratulations to 33 First Communion children who received the sacrament on May 3, 2026, including Aidan Anderson, Anna Askey, Bobby Barnes, Jack Brady, Louise Denton, and many others.

Second Collection scheduled for June 6-7, 2026 for the Education of Future Archdiocesan Priests.

The Indiana bishops released the pastoral letter 'Integral Ecology: A Sacramental Vision' emphasizing water conservation and environmental stewardship. Read it at www.indianacc.org/ecology.

Service

Saint Vincent de Paul giving drive with theme 'April Showers Bring May Flour-ers'. Collect pantry staples: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cornmeal/cornstarch, cocoa powder, yeast packets, vanilla extract, honey, spices, and cooking oil. Pick up bags from Narthex or provide your own. Final collection date is Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Hygiene Items Donation for GFC Mobile Clinic Van

Service

Donate sample size hotel/motel hygiene items (dental items, shampoo, body lotion, soap) to STA's Boulevard Place Food Pantry cart labeled 'Gennesaret Free Clinics'. Volunteers will sort and distribute to homeless and working poor clients.
