Announcements

Hugh Haynes, husband of former parishioner Judy Haynes, passed away on July 27, 2026. A funeral Mass was celebrated on August 13, 2026 at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist. Please pray for him and his family.

Liz Fries has been elected as the new at-large representative on the STA Parish Council, beginning her three-year term. Also welcome new member Liz Turner Suscha as the new chair of the Finance Committee.

The 2026-2027 Parish Council welcomes new members Liz Fries and Liz Turner Suscha. Outgoing members Fred Chandler, Mary Catharine Grau, and John Sobotowski are thanked for their service. Sheila Brown is the new President and Carissa Cartwright is the new Vice-President.

Tiger-themed artwork has been painted on the utility box near the 46th street entrance by local artist Jon Edwards with a grant through the Arts Council of Indianapolis' Streetcorner Canvases program, welcoming the new school year.

First Communion Parent Meeting

Parents of second graders interested in First Communion are invited to attend planning meeting in the Third Grade classroom. Preparation includes sacrament of First Reconciliation. $100 fee for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion ($50 each). Bring cash or check made out to St. Thomas Aquinas. Baptismal certificate required.

Confirmation Sign Up and Sessions

Eighth-graders interested in receiving Sacrament of Confirmation may sign up online at www.staindy.org. First session Saturday, Sept. 19 from 3:45-5:15 p.m. in Bethany Room, followed by 5:30 p.m. Mass. Program consists of seven formation meetings, sponsor-candidate relationships, service projects, and overnight retreat March 6-7 at Camp Rancho Framasa. Additional meetings: Sunday Nov. 15 after 10:30 a.m. Mass and Saturdays on Dec. 12, Jan. 9, Jan. 23, Feb. 6, and April 17. Contact Karla Hudecek at khudecek@staindy.org.
